SCOPS ASIC CDR successfully held on July 28, 2025
SCOPS – 2025, Ago 29
The consortium is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Critical Design Review (CDR) for the SCOPS ASIC, which took place on July 28, 2025. In parallel, all CDRs for the sub-blocks were finalized in advance of the SCOPS CDR.
The review, founded on the presented schematics and verification outcomes during the DDR, confirms the comprehensive design maturity at both the top-level schematic and layout. The chip prototype will be packaged in an over-molded, organic BGA 81 configuration. The power budget has been validated, with a typical consumption of 90 mA and a worst-case scenario of 100 mA. Furthermore, the internal checklist of Thales Alenia Space France has been thoroughly completed, and the compliance matrix has been duly assessed.
A limited number of minor post-CDR actions remain to be addressed prior to releasing the final layout to the foundry—XFAB, via IMEC. The wafer lot is anticipated by December 2026, with first prototypes expected by the end of January 2026. The year 2026 will be devoted to electrical testing and radiation campaigns (TTID and SEE).
