ISD

Integrated Systems Development S.A. (ISD) is an independent organization established in Greece in 1998 (http://www.isd.gr). ISD is active in the domain of Integrated Systems (IS) of guaranteed quality and performance. It is an R&D organization working with system houses, software houses and integrated circuit manufacturers. Actually ISD acts as an original electronic equipment developer and integrator, providing services ranging from software development for embedded and general purpose platforms, to digital and analog/RF integrated circuit design, memory design, to digital signal processing for embedded/stand-alone applications and PCB design, assembly and testing. Over the years, ISD has developed several complex mixed signal ICs for space applications in the context of ESA funded projects.

It is an R&D organization working with system houses, software houses and integrated circuit manufacturers. Actually ISD acts as an original electronic equipment developer and integrator, providing services ranging from software development for embedded and general purpose platforms, to digital and analog/RF integrated circuit design, memory design, to digital signal processing for embedded/stand-alone applications and PCB design, assembly and testing.

Over the years, ISD has developed several complex mixed signal ICs for space applications in the context of ESA funded projects.

Role in the project

  • Design and development of mixed signal IPs.

All ISD design work will be performed at ISD’s main design facility in Maroussi, Greece. The facility, that has a National Secret, EU Secret and NATO Secret security clearance, offers internet access, VPNs to the rest of ISD’s facilities, IT and telecommunication infrastructure (file server, mail server, firewall, ftp server, backup server, LDAP server, phone exchange, fax server, servers for simulation execution, etc). Dedicated servers provide access to design kits for the following technologies:

  • ATMX150RHA
  • ST Microelectronics 65nm SPACE
  • ST Microelectronics 28nm FD-SOI

and floating time-based licenses for ASIC development and simulation tools from Cadence and Synopsys.

For PCB design, the tool chain available at ISD includes impedance calculators (Polar and AppCAD from Agilent), the Cadence Allegro PCB layout software and RF simulators (ADS from Agilent and HFSS from ANSYS).

The board assembly, integration and basic testing will be performed at ISD’s production facility in Glyka Nera, Greece. The facility offers internet access, VPNs to the rest of ISD’s facilities, IT and telecommunication infrastructure (file server, mail server, firewall, phone exchange, fax server).

The facility’s PCB assembly line is composed of a vacuum drying oven, a stencil printer, a pick and place machine, a vapor reflow oven, a spray under immersion cleaner, a 3-D automated optical inspection machine, an ionic contamination meter, a 80x stereo microscope, a 200x digital microscope and a BGA rework station.

The facility’s test lab includes a temperature chamber, a TVAC, a 6GHz oscilloscope, logic analyzers, an ultra-low distortion sine wave generator, an arbitrary waveform generator, 6.5 digits multi-meters, a high voltage 128 test points cable tester, etc.
